The Calculation Board carries every date into the 13 Moon Calendar and into the Tzolkin. These are the concepts it works with and the rule by which it finds the Kin of the day.
Tzolkin
The Tzolkin arranges the 260 Kin in a grid of 13 columns and 20 rows: each day moves one cell further, column by column. It is the 13:20 time matrix of the Dreamspell and runs without interruption alongside the 13 Moon Calendar; one full galactic spin lasts 260 days.
In the glossary →Moon (13 Moons)
The 13 Moon year begins on July 26 and has thirteen moons of exactly 28 days, each with four heptads. Every moon carries a name made of tone and animal, from the Magnetic Bat Moon to the Cosmic Turtle Moon. Since 13 × 28 = 364, one day remains: the Day Out of Time.
In the glossary →Heptad
Each moon divides into four heptads of seven days. The seven days carry the seven radial plasmas, from Dali to Silio, and each heptad has a color: the first of a moon is red, the second white, the third blue and the fourth yellow. The 13 Moon year has 52 heptads.
In the glossary →Kin
Each of the 260 units of the Tzolkin: the combination of a seal (1–20) with a tone (1–13).
In the glossary →Solar seal
One of the 20 symbols of the Tzolkin, from Dragon (1) to Sun (20); each has a color, an action, an essence and a power.
In the glossary →Galactic tone
One of the 13 tones of creation, written with dots and bars; it gives each Kin its step in the wavespell.
In the glossary →Wavespell
Thirteen consecutive Kin, from tone 1 to tone 13; the seal of the first day names the wavespell.
In the glossary →Castle
Four wavespells, 52 Kin; five colored castles complete the Tzolkin.
In the glossary →Earth family
A group of four seals, one of each color; there are five families: Polar, Cardinal, Core, Signal and Gateway.
In the glossary →Oracle
The cross of five Kin around the Kin of the day: destiny in the center, guide, analog, antipode and occult.

The Synchronotron calculates the Kin of a date by the same rule as the Calculation Board. The 13 Moon year begins on July 26, and the Kin of that day, the year bearer, advances 105 Kin each year (NS 1.0 = 26.07.1987, Kin 34). From there the count moves on one Kin per day; after Kin 260 it starts again at Kin 1. On July 25, the Day Out of Time, the Kin count simply continues; February 29 (0.0 Hunab Ku) does not advance it. The number of the Kin gives the seal (1 to 20) and the tone (1 to 13), and from them the wavespell, the castle, the Earth family and the oracle.
What is the Calculation Board?
It is the online version of the original Synchronotron spreadsheet: all values are calculated directly in the browser, with the same tables and rules as the original spreadsheet.
How does a date become a 13 Moon date?
The year begins on July 26 and has 13 Moons of 28 days, 364 days in all. July 25 is the Day Out of Time, and February 29, when it exists, is the day 0.0 Hunab Ku; neither of them is counted.
How does the Calculation Board find the Kin of the day?
It starts from the year bearer, the Kin of July 26, which advances 105 Kin each year, and counts on one Kin per day; after Kin 260 the count starts again at Kin 1.
What are the heptad and the plasma?
The week of 7 days; each moon has 4 heptads, the year has 52. The quality of each day of the heptad: Dali, Seli, Gamma, Kali, Alpha, Limi, Silio.
What do BMU, TFI and KE mean?
BMU: The number (1–441) of a unit in the Base Matrix. TFI: The sum of the three values (Time, Space, Synchronic) of a point. KE: The Master TFI reduced to 1–260: another Kin of the day.
Can I calculate other dates?
Yes. Choose any date from the year 1000 on in the date field or step day by day with the arrows ‹ ›; the button “Copy link to this date” creates an address with the chosen date.
